OWERRI— FOLLOWING the inability of the Federal Government to stop the selling of fuel above pump price, the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Zonal Controller Southeast, Mr. Peter Ikechukwu Eje, yesterday, said the workforce available  may not be enough to achieve the result.

He spoke when some youths protested at the DPR, office, Owerri, over the unending increment of the price of fuel in the state.
When asked to give statistics of how many filling stations had been shut as a result of selling above pump price, he could not but summarily said that many filling stations had been shut down.
He also denied the allegation of collaborating with marketers to sell above approved Federal Government pump price.
Eje while addressing the protesting youths said: "I will start with the last allegation. It is not true that we are not doing anything. As a matter of fact, I am coming back from the field, we went on surveillance.
"Since Monday, I have been in the field, going round to ensure that the product is sold at N145.
"It is not also true that we have not shut down any filling station. We have shut a lot of them. There is one problem in shutting down filling stations. If you shut a filling station, you have cut down the quantity that will be available to be dispensed."
